Printer Properties


  • Each logical printer object can be set up with default configuration settings via its driver or app
  • In Windows, two main configuration dialogs for local printer:
    • Printer Properties
      • allows you to manage configuration settings for the printer object and the underlying hardware
        • updating the driver, printing to a different port, sharing and permissions, setting basic device options (whether a duplex unit or finisher unit is installed), and configuring default paper types for different feed trays
      • About tab contains information about the driver and the printer vendor
        • may include links to support and troubleshooting tips and utilities
