Each logical printer object can be set up with default configuration settings via its driver or app
In Windows, two main configuration dialogs for local printer:
Printer Properties
allows you to manage configuration settings for the printer object and the underlying hardware
updating the driver, printing to a different port, sharing and permissions, setting basic device options (whether a duplex unit or finisher unit is installed), and configuring default paper types for different feed trays
