Physical controls protect the physical environment in which your systems sit, or where your data is stored.
- control access in and out of environment
- are tangible and manual
- Prevent, deter, and detect access to sites and hardware
- E.g.,
- fences, gates, locks, bollards, guards, cameras, lighting, alarms
- also systems that maintain the physical environment
- heating and air conditioning systems, fire suppression, backup power generators
