Logic bomb is a malicious program or script that is set to run under particular circumstances or in response to a defined event.

• isn’t necessarily malicious code but could be an event that triggers an undesirable event
• e.g., disgruntled system’s administrator who leaves a scripted trap that runs in the event their account is deleted or disabled
  • Antivirus software is unlikely to detect this kind of malicious script or program
  • This type of trap is also referred to as a mine
