The cover up of Iran/Contra was a secret compromise between the public Image of an egalitarian, democratically governed constitutional democracy and the actual fact of a “behind the scenes”, secretly manipulated FASCIST imperialist state, which has always existed here in the United States ever since the Madison; Jefferson vs. Hamilton dialectic conflict over the “soul” of America. The conflict of democracy and the role of the elite and the generation of the “Jeffersonian Compromise” in both constructing the American Constitution and the financing of the US Government by the elite bankers and mercantilists on Wall Street from the time of Jefferson’s presidency.
